Cultivating Stalk & STEM

Antionette Jennings is the founder of Cultivating Stalk & STEM. Antionette has a Masters in Social Work and is a licensed Special Education Teacher with over 20 years of classroom experience. She has more than 15 years of experience working with children and adults with substance abuse and behavior health diagnosis such as ADHD, ODD, and Depression. Additionally, she owned and operated a for profit organization servicing children and adults providing direct and case management services. She provides the community opportunities, field trip exposure, facilitates our lunch and snack experiences and assists with all hands-on projects.

Tamara Young is the Project Director of Cultivating Stalk & STEM. Tamara has a Masters of Education in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus in Elementary Education and a BS in Elementary Education with a minor in mathematics. She also has a North Carolina Teaching License and has over ten years of classroom experience. She created the curriculum for the program which includes a word, quote and problem each day followed by team building activities, ] goal planning, financial literacy, mindset, hands-on science experiments, and immersive technology in all aspects with the use of many learning aid including Kahoot, Mentimeter, and digital porfolios to capture it all.

Our mission is to promote and improve the growth of students providing educational, cultural, and STEM related opportunities. We have a strong passion to educate our youth and help them become confident, well-rounded, responsible, and successful individuals. Students will be encouraged, motivated and taught that the sky is the limit.
